Urgent - Feb 16 deadline for Co-op/Condo Tax Abatement

Managing Agents and individual apartment owners have until as early as Feb. 16, 2015 to file the forms required to claim significant real estate tax abatements.  Below are links to the Department of Finance pages where the forms and instructions can be found. It is strongly suggested that Managing Agents and individual apartment owners use email for filing, where it is offered, and keep proof of filing. Where only mail submissions are offered, keep proof of mailing.

Co-ops currently receiving the abatement
This is the earliest deadline - February 16, 2015.  Go to http://www1.nyc.gov/site/finance/benefits/landlords-coop-condo-benefits.page to obtain the instructions and link for the 2014-2015 Co-op Tax Benefit Change Form.

Condominiums currently receiving the abatement and all individual co-op/condo apartment owners
Use the Homeowner Tax Benefits Application and follow filing instructions contained within.  Go to http://www1.nyc.gov/assets/finance/downloads/pdf/tax_and_parking_program_operations/exemption/exemptions_appl.pdf to obtain the form.  The deadline stated on this form is March 16, 2015.

Co-ops and Condos not currently receiving the abatement
Use the Condominium Property Tax Abatement Application and follow filing instructions contained within.  Go to http://www1.nyc.gov/assets/finance/downloads/pdf/coop_condo_abatement/coop_condo_abatement_first_time.pdf to obtain the form.  The deadline stated on this form is March 2, 2015.
